Fleet Foxes are signed to Sub Pop Records, make indie rock and have impressive facial hair. In other words, they're Pitchfork Media's wet dream. The influential website gave their debut studio album a 9/10 and the Seattle band have been busy playing the college circuit ever since.

Describing their music as "baroque harmonic pop jams", the group has certainly built a solid following. They released a self financed EP back in 2006 and after drawing comparisons to The Beach Boys, Band of Horses and Animal Collective they were promptly snapped up by Sub Pop Records.

Having garnered lots of critical praise and media attention in the US for their debut LP, the group has returned from a brief stint of R&R to tackle the rest of the world. They certainly have the bearded, check shirt, Seattle Sub Pop thing down pat so if that sounds like your CD / MP3 collection than you should already be across their music. And besides, it's not like Sub Pop just signs anyone that walks through their door with a guitar. Well, not as far as we know.
